About me
The Color Up is an LA Indie Band that consist of experienced musicians, raised in the Los Angeles music scene and have performed at most all of the monumental venues in L.A.

Chevy: The Japanese, Filipino singer-songwriter was born July 17th 1986 in Manila, Philippines. With his mother working as a choreographer for an international dance company, father managing CEO of a multi-million dollar hotel company and step father's background in opera, the island native grew up submerged in the arts and its business. Chivito Nishinome, also known as Chevy, immigrated to Los Angeles, CA by 1996 with his family for greater opportunities.
Chevy grew up in the outskirts of Los Angeles at the suburbs of La Crescenta, CA. The culture shock became a vice for Chevy; a new idea. In High school, his metamorphosis began in choreographing in advance dance companies, singing full time with a chamber choir and instigating a life in local garage bands. In dance, Chevy acquired the opportunities of performing in front of over a thousand people, dabbled in teaching in a local dance studio and auditioned for multiple Hollywood studios. In chamber choir, Chevy was given an opportunity to travel and tour around Southern California and Arizona; performing at competitions and cathedral halls. As a lead vocalist of an amateur rock group, Cadence, Chevy perused in and out of Sunset Blvd performing at a young age of 16 at such places as the Whiskey A Go Go, The Roxy, Viper Room, and The Key Club. Acquiring a strong following by having residencies at local underage clubs like No Future Cafe, The Mosaic Cafe, and house parties, he sparked some noise which led to Music label interest, but as the old story goes; the band broke-up due to personal issues.
After High School, the young adult took some time off entertainment, pursued his interest in the medical field to help his struggling family's financial needs, and became a Respiratory Therapist at a young age of 21. As a Health Professional, Chevy works in downtown Los Angeles experiencing shifts in the Emergency Room, Cardiac surgery & Intensive Care Units just to name a few.
This new chapter in his life led to a deep depression and self-destructive behavior due to the nature of his work & lack of creative outlet. With the help and support of his family and friends, the young artist turned a new leaf and became a self reliant musician. From being a self taught multi-instrumentalist, learning the ropes of composition to rekindling w/ childhood bandmate Mr. Bryan Limon, the new chapter in Chevy's life has slowly but surely made its way towards the creation of "The Color Up."

Bryan: Bryan Limon was born in Montrose,California and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Growing up, he moved from place to place. Bryan attended private school most of my life and began doing drugs at the age of 17 because he thought it would helped him fit in better and bypass all the negative emotions he was surrounded by. Within a year, his best friend had overdosed, which led to Bryan tossing himself into a free Christian rehab called Teen Challenge International. A year and a half after being in the Christian rehab, Bryan still wasn't satisfied yet and began drinking heavily for years. An episode that changed his life was when he was involved in a gang related incident, in which he was jumped by gang members. A couple of years later, he quit drinking and began taking music seriously. Bryan is currently attending music school, pursuing his degree in classical music.
