Patrick Landeza is a contemporary Hawaiian slack key guitarist and vocalist. Well-known in the Slack Key circles in Hawaii and on the mainland, his 2012 album, “Slack Key Huaka’i” won the Hawaiian Grammy-equivalent award, the Nā Hōkū Hanohano for “Slack Key Guitar Album of the Year.” He is the first mainland-based artist to receive the award.

Landeza got his start in the Bay Area opening for Hawaiian artists like Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Cecilio & Kapono, and Keali’i Reichel. He’s since added his own recognized contributions in the field – touring and as an educator. In 2004, he founded the Institute of Hawaiian Music and Culture workshop series and continues to teach at events around the country including the Swannanoa Gathering in North Carolina, the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, and the FAR-West Folk Alliance conference. His lessons have been published in Acoustic Guitar Magazine.
