Hedgehog Swing is a gypsy swing band based in Long Beach which prides itself on being true to the music of 1930's France, and legendary guitarist, Django Reinhardt. Formed in 2010, Hedgehog Swing is a quartet consisting of two guitars, clarinet, and upright bass. Luca (guitar), Gage (guitar), and Kale (clarinet) grew up in Long Beach, playing in the local high school jazz bands. After developing a taste for the gypsy music of Django Reinhardt, these 3 aficionados started study under the greatly renown teacher, Jeff Radaich. They even take an annual trip to Seattle to attend a famous gypsy jazz festival. Benj (upright bass) is a seasoned pro from Cincinnati, Ohio. He has played with a number of professional bands, including the well-known group Larisa Stow & Shakti Tribe. Together, the musicians of Hedgehog Swing find happiness in what they do, while constantly striving for excellence.
